Miss Ghana Foundation Kicks off Mentorship Program On Protect The Goal Campaign, Ebola Awareness and Feminine Hygiene in Senior High Schools Across The Country.

The Miss Ghana Foundation in collaboration with UNAIDs Ghana commenced its annual youth mentorship program on feminine hygiene, the protect the Goal Campaign, Ebola awareness and wellness at Don Bosco Technical Institute, Tema, St. Peters Anglican Senior High School, Nungua, Preset Pacesetters Senior High School, Accra, Osu Salem High School, Accra amongst other Senior High Schools in the region.
The team led by the Chairwoman of the Miss Ghana Foundation,

“Protect the Goal Campaign” is an initiative by UNAIDS Ghana & UNAIDS Global to educate our youth on the importance of: knowing your HIV status, practice safe sex or use a condom, and reduce sexual partners.

Inna M. Patty, and the CEO of EEGL (organisers of the Miss Ghana Pageant) and speaker at the event stated the need, like previous mentorship programs “to empower our youth with knowledge to help them make informed and significant decisions about their health and well-being. This we believe is a significant tool in liberating Ghana from poverty, ignorance and disease there by increasing development and productivity in our dear Nation’’.

Afua Asieduaa Akrofi, Miss Ghana Ambassador also empathized the need for our youth to pledge to “Protect the Goal”. This means ‘’The need for our youth to abstain from sex or if sexually active, to practice safe sex.’ For the Senior High schools visited, she encouraged them to abstain and focus on their studies. She also encouraged them to know their HIV status by getting tested, maintain one  sexual partner and ‘practice safe sex’ by always using a condom.
A Pharmacist from Tobinco Pharmaceuticals talked about La Wash Intimate Hygiene and the necessity of using feminine products to keep our intimate areas clean especially as women.
As part of the feminine hygiene campaign, free Lawash intimate hygiene products were distributed to the female students.
Talks on Ebola, a deadly disease that has no cure was also a subject for our youth so they can better protect themselves and thereby mitigate easy transmission.
At the end of the event, thousands of students pledged to “Protect the Goal” by signing the pledge book.

Miss Ghana Pageant Visits Foreign Missions Ahead of Official Launch on Aug. 2

As part of the celebrations of Miss Ghana 60 Years On, Exclusive Events Ghana Ltd , organizers of the prestigious pageant, Miss Ghana, recently paid several courtesy calls on members of the Diplomatic Corps. The objective of the visit was to strengthen the relationship with these countries and solicit further involvement of the diplomatic community in the socio-economic development of our country, Ghana; particularly through tourism, arts and culture.

The delegation were warmly welcomed and they in turn briefed their hosts on the Corporate Social Responsibility activities of the Miss Ghana foundation as well as the Miss Ghana 60 Years On/Miss Ghana 2017/Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The Miss Ghana and Mr. Ghana Ambassadors, Afua Asieduwaa Akrofi and Archibald Acquaye respectively were part of the delegation that visited the various embassies. Notable among the

visits were that of the Embassy of United States of America, Hungarian Embassy, Embassy of People’s Republic of China, Embassy of the Republic of Germany and Indian High Commission, British High Commission, Colombian Embassy, amongst others.

Inna Patty, Miss Ghana 2004 and CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana; the organisers of Miss Ghana pageant took part in a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday to start a construction of an additional multi-purpose structure at the Child Protection Centre by Omenaa Mensah Foundation for Don Bosco Technical & Vocational Training Institute in Ashaiman, Tema.

Inna Patty who was a special guest of honour invited by the Salesians of Don Bosco Anglophone West Africa Province years ago acquired acres of land for the institution and helped in the building of a female hostel on the land.

Speaking at the ceremony she urged corporate Ghana to support pageants in the country, especially the Miss Ghana Foundation because the pageantry is beyond scouting for beautiful ladies and crowning them.

According to her, there is a social intervention wing of the pageants such as embodied by the Miss Ghana Foundation that has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Ghana.

“I’m always humbled by such kind gestures and the opportunity to support a worthy cause, especially to empower our youth through education. I thank Almighty Allah for blessing me with opportunity to be able to extend support to the most vulnerable in our society. I also thank ‘angels’ such as the former Director of Tema Development Corporation (TDC), Ms Mansa Bansa; MD of Cal Bank, Mr Frank Adu; former MD of Stanbic Bank, Bill Thomas, amongst others, who made our dream a reality 13 years ago,” Inna Patty who was accompanied by Mr Ghana Ambassador, Archibald Quaye said at the ceremony.

She also assured of further “Plans in place to carry out another magnificent project to commemorate our diamond jubilee celebrations and we shall be knocking on your doors.”
The PDO Director, Father Chris Nizniak, and Father Piotr Wojnarowski at Don Bosco thanked Inna Patty for the kind support she has been extending to Don Bosco for many years now.
